This is a rare tin plate model of the Casspir landmine-protected personnel carrier that has been in use in South Africa for over 20 years. The Casspir itself is a four wheeled armoured vehicle, used for the transport of troops. It can hold a crew of two, plus 12 additional soldiers and associated gear. It has famously been used by the SAP Koevoet unit and other elements of the SADF /SANDF.
Approximately 1/40th in scale this is an impressive model. One that captures the presence and look of the real thing. It’s almost 300mm long and stands 160mm tall!
This model is freewheeling though we have heard an enterprising modeller or two have added radio control!!

This Casspir adult collectors model is finished in the livery of the South African Police Service (SAPS). This tin-plate model of the Buffel. A mine-protected Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) used by the South African Army during the South African Border War. It was certainly not the most comfortable vehicle, but it offered the necessary protection against mine attack.
This rare and hard to find model is in approximate 1/40th scale is 900mm long and stands 600mm tall. It’s a great piece of work and we love it! A perfect companion to the Casspir!
